Description

The Pathfinder Guide for the Lake District is the ideal companion to gaining an appreciation of England's most mountainous region with its balanced range of walks across the whole of the National Park. There are a total of 28 outstanding circular walks in the Lake District National Park from 3 to 10 miles with easy-to-follow route descriptions, clear Ordnance Survey route maps, GPS waypoints, where to park, good pubs and places of interest en route. All routes have been researched and written by expert outdoor writer Terry Marsh and showcase beautiful photography of scenes from the walks.

There are clusters of walks within easy reach of the popular centres at Ambleside, Coniston and Keswick, and routes from the Esk estuary in the west, on Irish Sea coast at Muncaster, to Haweswater in the east, and from Black Combe in the far south-west of the Lake District to Mungrisdale in the north. The book contains a total of 160 miles of walking amid the majestic fells and the finest meres, tarns and waters of Lakeland, with gentler rambles that take in Devoke Water, Scandale, Loughrigg Tarn, building up to more energetic ascents of Blencathra, Bowfell and the Old Man of Coniston.
